What does MERCO Credit Union do with your personal information?

How does MERCO Credit Union protect my personal information?

To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.

How does MERCO Credit Union collect my personal information?

We collect your personal information, for example, when you

  • open an account or deposit money
  • pay your bills or apply for a loan
  • use your debit or credit card

We also collect your personal information from others, such as credit bureaus, affiliates, or other companies.

Why can’t I limit all sharing?

Federal law gives you the right to limit only

  • sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes – information about your creditworthiness
  • affiliates from using your information to market to you
  • sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you

State law and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing.

SMS Text Messaging Privacy Statement

All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
We will not share your opt-in to an SMS campaign with any third party for purposes unrelated to providing you with the services of that campaign. We may share your Personal Data, including your SMS opt-in or consent status, with third parties that help us provide our messaging services, including but not limited to platform providers, phone companies, and any other vendors who assist us in the delivery of text messages.

You will receive periodic messages from MERCO Credit Union.  Message frequency may vary.  Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for assistance.  Standard messaging and data rates may apply.  For more information, see our privacy policy at merco.org/privacypolicy.  

  • Opting In: By signing up for our SMS Program, you consent to receive marketing and informational messages via text.  Consent is not required for purchases.  Message and data rates may apply.  Frequency may vary.  
  • Opting Out: To stop receiving texts, reply STOP to any message.  You may receive a confirmation text upon opting out.  Only these exact commands will be honored.  
  • Program Description: Messages may include promotions, updates, and product-related information.   
  • Cost and Frequency: Standard messaging and data rates apply.  Message frequency varies based on your engagement.
